Shi Bing
Shi Bing, born in Liaoning in 1989, graduated from the Sculpture Department of China Academy of Art with master degree. He currently works and lives in Hangzhou and teaches in the Fiber Art Department of China Academy of Art. He usually works in diverse ways, exploring artistic language and methods using different medium, including paintings, sculptures, installations, performance, videos, etc. He aims at conveying the relationship between individual experience and the external environment in diversified expressions, emphasizing the influence of society and primitive nature on the subject, and the confrontation and separation of the subject and the world in the technological environment. He is recently focusing on "fibers", emphasizing the abstract meaning and artistic expression of "threads" and "weaving”.
