About

Huang Jia

Huang Jia lives and works in Shenzhen and Berlin. She is a representative of Chinese minimalist conceptual painting. She participated in the 1992 Guangzhou Biennale and won the nomination award. From figural painting to minimalism, Huang Jia has always emphasized the interpenetration of language in her works. She uses concise points, lines, and flat surfaces to inject distinctive hints and feelings into the work itself, and refines and purifies the art language, reducing it to the most basic dots or lines to evoke rich experience and cognition from the audience.

Huang Jia's works have been exhibited in contemporary art exhibitions in the United States, Germany, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and other places. Her works have been collected by major art institutions and private collectors as well. "History of Modern Chinese Art", "Contemporary Art", "Artist", "Art Magazine", "ASIAWEEK", "CITYLIFE" and other newspapers and magazines have written features for Huang Jia. Publications include "Flowing Water Through Fingertips" (Huang Jia Image), "Bird in the Mirror" (co-authored), etc.
