Richard Lin

Richard Lin is a pioneer of Chinese minimalist art. He was born in Taichung in 1933 and is a descendant of the Wufeng Lin family, one of the five largest families in Taiwan. At the age of 32 (1964), he was selected to participate in the 3rd Kassel “

In 1967, Richard, Chu Teh-chun, Zhuang Zhe, Ding Xiongquan and Zao Wou-ki were selected for the 44th "Carnegie International Art Exhibition" in Pittsburgh, USA. Their works were later collected by the Carnegie Institution. Francis Bacon was also awarded at the same time.

Richard’s works are not only exhibited in countless best art museums in the world, but also collected by more than 30 first-class art institutions worldwide including the Tate Modern, the National Museum of Modern Art in Italy, the Carnegie Institution Art Museum in the United States and many others. In 1983, Taipei Palace Museum, who originally intended to establish a modern art department, collected the first piece of modern art and the only living artist's work---- Richard Lin’s "Painting and Relief Duo".
